Supplementary Estimates (C) 2021-22

Abstract

This report presents a detailed analysis of the Government’s third Supplementary Estimates for the 2021-22 fiscal year, which seeks Parliament’s approval of $13.2 billion.

Highlights

• COVID-19 measures account for the majority (57.6 per cent, or $9.8 billion) of budgetary authorities.

• $4.0 billion in proposed spending relates to the procurement and distribution of COVID-19 rapid test kits.

• The Government’s forecast for the Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit is increasing by $2.4 billion.

• The Government’s forecast for interest on unmatured debt is increasing by $1.6 billion.
